Government allocates UAH 50 m for Okhmatdyt and over UAH 2 b for other programs

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has ordered the allocation of UAH 2.138 billion for development programs, of which only UAH 50 million was earmarked to Ukreuroinfraproject for the construction of a modern building at the Okhmatdyt National Children's Hospital (Kyiv) at 28/1 Chornovola Street in the Shevchenkivsky district of Kyiv.

According to government resolution No. 472-r of July 3, 2013, which was published in the Uriadovy Kurier newspaper on Saturday, all of these funds will be allocated for development programs by reducing the funding for the state program on servicing public debt and measures on the gradual compensation to citizens for the losses from depreciated deposits.

In general, the government increased by UAH 1.79 billion the expenditures under the program on state capital expenditures allocated by the Cabinet of Ministers, including for the construction of a modern building at the Okhmatdyt National Children's Hospital, the expansion and modernization of the National Cancer Institute, the construction of synthetic ice rinks, the purchase of medical vehicles and medical equipment, support for health care reform, as well as UAH 348.037 million as subsidies from the state budget to local budgets for measures on the socio-economic development of certain areas.

According to the document, UAH 299.9 million was allocated to the Regional Development Ministry, including UAH 29.9 million for the reconstruction of water supply systems with the introduction of modern water technologies in Sloviansk and UAH 40 million for the reconstruction a three-story medical building at the state-owned Artek International Children's Center.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) will receive UAH 30 million to continue the construction of a residential complex with social facilities in Kyiv.

The Cabinet of Ministers also allocated UAH 40 million to the Foreign Ministry, of which UAH 30 million will be used to finance activities related to Ukraine's chairmanship of the OSCE, including the holding of a meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Kyiv, and UAH 10 million will be used to guarantee the full functioning of foreign diplomatic institutions, including the completion of the Ukrainian Embassy in Georgia, and ensure the security of diplomatic institutions.

The Culture Ministry will receive an additional UAH 228.647 million, of which, UAH 137.9 million will be used to prepare for marking the 200th birthday of Taras Shevchenko and the 1025th anniversary of the Christianization of Kyiv Rus, with only UAH 10 million to be spent on the purchase of Ukrainian-language books and UAH 40 million on the development of Ukrainian cinematography.
