Ukrainian Interior Minister Vitaliy Zakharchenko has made it clear that he was not going to resign in connection with the events in Vradiivka.

"Today, in such a difficult situation, in my opinion, it is inappropriate to make any political statements," the minister said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Friday, when asked to comment on the opposition's demand of his resignation following the event in Vradiivka.

He added that to date, the Interior Ministry is working on proposals to reform law enforcement agencies.

"What we have built up, the changes and reforms that we propose to carry out, they are very systematic and, in our opinion, if we hold them, this will benefit the state, first of all the citizens," the minister said.
