Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasyl Hrytsak has denied a possible involvement of the Ukrainian side in the death of DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko and tends to the fact that the main reason for his elimination could be conflicts on a commercial basis.

"In my opinion, the situation is predicted. All those who in 2014 facilitated the introduction of Russian troops to Donbas, who contributed to the creation of pseudo-national republics are being eliminated ... We believe that a methodical elimination of those who know too much and who have blood on their hands, those who are no longer needed as witnesses is being carried out," he told reporters in Kyiv, commenting on the detention of allegedly Ukrainian saboteurs and blaming the Security Service for the murder of Zakharchenko.

The second version voiced by the SBU head is "just conflicts on a commercial basis, since many objects of property, enterprises were, as they write, wrung out, separated and there were many offended in the leadership of both LPR and DPR."

Asked whether the SBU cases against Zakharchenko will be closed in connection with his death, Hrytsak said the investigator would make the decision, however, as a rule, such cases are closed.
