The construction of a subway to the Vyhurivschyna-Troyeschyna residential area could start in autumn this year, CEO of PJSC Kyivmetrobud Volodymyr Petrenko has said.

"We installed the first components of a tunnel on the right bank to show where the track will pass. Therefore I think it will be in August-September [this year] after the Teremky subway station is launched [the Kurenivsko-Chervonoarmiyska line]. It is obvious that the time will come when the fourth line will be built," Petrenko said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

According to him, the issue of financing the construction could be also resolved by autumn.

"The issue of financing - whether it will be a loan or state funds – is under discussion. I think the decision will be made in three or four months, and then we will talk specifically about the timing of construction," he said.

Petrenko said he believes that Kyivmetrobud has a real chance to become the general contractor of the subway construction in Troyeschyna.

"We have a chance if there are no nuances. For example, they said that if a loan is Russian, then the contractor will be Russian as well. But in Russia the cost of subway construction is at least twice as much," he said.
