Foreign Ministry advises Ukrainians to be vigilant in Guinea due to difficult security situation and outbreaks of meningitis

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has advised Ukrainians to refrain from making trips to Guinea and, if they enter the country, to be cautious due to the deteriorating security situation and outbreaks of meningitis.

"Due to the recently observed trend of deterioration in the security situation in Guinea, the Foreign Ministry advises Ukrainian citizens who intend to visit the country to carefully weigh the urgency of such a trip and, in case of entry, to show increased vigilance and caution during their stay in big cities and the capital of Guinea, Conakry," the ministry's information policy department said in a statement on Wednesday.

The ministry also drew attention to the situation with meningitis in Guinea: "Given the outbreaks of meningitis in Guinea, Ukrainian citizens should consult with doctors in Ukraine before making trips, and if they stay on the territory of the republic, avoid visiting areas where cases of the disease have been reported."
