Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko visited Donetsk region, where he met with brigades of the National Guard, border guards, rescuers and police officers taking part in the fighting.

"We have held a working meeting with the participation of the head of Donetsk Regional State Administration Vadym Filashkin and the head of the State Emergency Service Andriy Danyk. I listened to the report of the command of the National Guard units, the leadership of the National Police, and brigade commanders. In this difficult situation in Donetsk region, it is important to hear the operational information of the direction," Klymenko wrote on the Telegram channel following the trip.

He noted that in the last week alone, the soldiers of the 18th Sloviansk Brigade killed and wounded almost 70 occupiers, defeated or destroyed more than 10 pieces of equipment, and destroyed 57 enemy drones of various types.

The servicemen of the National Guard brigades Chervona Kalyna and Kara-Dag repelled more than 30 assault attempts. The total losses of the enemy amounted to more than 100 infantry, as well as enemy equipment and artillery systems destroyed.

Last week, Pomsta border guards eliminated 66 invaders and injured 61 others. More than 50 pieces of equipment and 114 drones were destroyed. Fifteen ammunition and fuel depots were hit.

"Police officers in Donetsk region are not only fighting, but also ensuring law and order and evacuating civilians. Since the evacuation was announced, more than 9,000 families have been evacuated from dangerous areas. These are, in particular, 13,350 children. Rescuers in Donetsk region eliminated more than 1,200 fires last year, evacuated 1,630 people, and delivered more than 19,000 cubic meters of drinking water," the minister added.

"I thank everyone who serves here in Donetsk region. You are a protection not only for local residents, you are a protection for the whole country," he concluded.
