Construction of roads and road junctions will continue in Sevastopol, Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovych said during the opening of a road bridge near the railway station in Sevastopol.

"A road junction with a bridge solves the transport problem in Sevastopol. I'm sure that we will not stop here. We will continue to build roads and interchanges," Yanukovych said.

According to him, the total cost of the project implemented by the Ukrainian government together with Sevastopol City State Administration and Prydniprovska Railways, is about around UAH 70 million.

"We have invested around 40 million, and still need to invest another 25 million into the second stage," the president said.

In turn, Head of Sevastopol City State Administration Volodymyr Yatsuba told journalists that the opening of the reconstructed bridge near the railway station in Sevastopol is a very important event for the city.

According to him, the project was implemented by Prydniprovska Railways, therefore they decided to call the bridge the Dniprovsky Bridge.

Yatsuba also noted that while carrying out this project they managed to save a lot of money, which would be spent on the construction of a road junction in another district of Sevastopol.

"We will start this work in ten days," he added.
