Svoboda demands strict control over Russian Black Sea Fleet servicemen and objective probe into shooting between sailors
Sevastopol city branch of the Svoboda Party has demanded an objective investigation into a shooting incident and injuries sustained by sailors of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, as well as an investigation into other crimes committed by Russian servicemen.
"Given the dangerous and disgraceful behavior of the Russian servicemen, the Svoboda branch in Sevastopol is demanding an objective investigation into a drunken shooting that was arranged by Russian sailors on April 22 in Sevastopol, as well as an investigation into other crimes committed by servicemen of the Russian Black Sea Fleet," the press service of the Crimean branch of Svoboda quoted the acting head of Svoboda branch in Sevastopol, Serhiy Lukin, as saying.
He also added: "The audacity of the Russians' behavior is striking. A series of scandals swept through Sevastopol in a short time. These were cases of the uncontrolled transportation of ballistic missiles through the streets of the city and armed attacks by the Russian military on the residents of the city. But instead of drawing the appropriate conclusions, the Russian servicemen, quite to the contrary, are demonstrating absolute lawlessness."
As reported, two servicemen of the Russian Black Sea Fleet sustained gunshot wounds in a drunken row with another sailor on April 23. The attacker, also a Russian citizen, was declared wanted.
The sailors, all aged around 25 years old, got into a row as they drank alcoholic beverages in Zakharov Square of Sevastopol. One of them fired his Makarov pistol at the two others. Their injuries are not life-threatening.
Interfax-Ukraine has been informed that the sailors belong to the crew of the Black Sea Fleet ship Pytlivy.
The investigation into the attack will be handled by Russia.
