Lutsenko plans to improve his health before returning to politics
Ukraine's former Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko, who was released from prison on April 7, plans to undergo a medical examination and have another surgery, and then return to politics.
When asked about his health on air on Channel 5 on Monday night, the ex-minister noted that this was not a topic one should speak publicly.
"Formally, I can tell you I do not feel as good as my friends would like me to, but not as bad as my enemies hope," he said.
"Tomorrow I will go through the examination, which I have been refused for over a month, in the Oberig Hospital with my doctor, and I hope that then I will have a planned second surgery, which I have not been allowed for a month and a half," the ex-minister said.
Lutsenko said he could not yet say whether this operation would be conducted in Ukraine or abroad.
"But in any case, I am afraid that I will have to go through a serious course of treatment before returning, as I have always done, to active politics," the ex-minister said.
