Pechersky Court to consider Lutsenko's appeal via video linkup from February 11
Kyiv's Pechersky District Court has decided to consider an appeal of former Interior Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko against a ruling to close the criminal case on crimes committed against him by officials of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine (PGO) and judges of Kyiv's Pechersky District Court and Court of Appeals via video linkup.
"The court finds it reasonable to hold a hearing via video linkup," reads the court's decision, which was read aloud by Judge Viktor Kytsiuk in Kyiv of Friday.
The next hearing of the appeal will begin at 1400 on February 11.
As reported, on December 26, 2012, Lutsenko asked Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Pshonka to prosecute First Deputy Prosecutor General Renat Kuzmin and investigator Serhiy Voichenko for making a decision on his detention and arrest.
On Friday, February 1, the court held a hearing to consider Lutsenko's appeal against the closure of the case. The ex-minister did not come to the courtroom, as the administration of the Mena Penal Colony in Chernihiv region, where he is serving his sentence, did not receive a relevant request to take Lutsenko to court.
