Ukraine-EU summit likely to take place in February 2013, says Khoroshkovsky

The Ukraine-EU Summit will not be held this year due to the delay in the establishment of the results of the October 28 parliamentary elections in Ukraine, and the preparations for the Christmas holidays, First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Valeriy Khoroshkovsky has said.

"We could have held this summit by the end of the year, if it hadn't been for the election campaign, [and] the technical problems that have arisen…" Khoroshkovsky told journalists in Kyiv on Wednesday.

He said the delay in the vote count and the upcoming Christmas holidays in Western Europe made holding the summit this year impossible.

The vice premier said that the summit was likely to be held in early 2013, most probably in February.
