Ukraine's parliamentary elections organized better than in some Western states, says European observer

The parliamentary elections in Ukraine were fair and organized even better than in some Western countries, a European parliamentarian and an observer from the European Center for Geopolitical Analysis Daniel van der Stoep (the Netherlands) has said.

"In general, in comparison with some Western states, the elections in Ukraine were organized even better," he said at a briefing at the press center of the Diplomatic Academy on Monday, according to the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine.

The European parliamentarian said Ukrainians should be proud of such elections, which demonstrated the country's movement forward.

MEP Vojtech Mynar (the Czech Republic), who monitored the elections in five constituencies, said that he did not notice any mistakes at the elections. According to him, everything was in line with the legislation.

MEP Nick Griffin (the UK) said the elections in Ukraine were free and democratic.

"Their system was even more transparent and fair than the British one," he said.
