Injured in Dnipropetrovsk terrorist attack to get over UAH 50,000 for artificial hand

The deputies of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration have allocated UAH 53,850 to 63-year old Valeriy Rutkovsky, who lost his left hand in the terrorist attack in Dnipropetrovsk.

As the correspondent of Interfax-Ukraine agency reported, the deputies took a corresponding decision on Friday at the early session.

As reported, according to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, every victim injured in the terrorist attacks received material aid. Rutkovsky received UAH 360,000 (UAH 200,000 in material aid, and UAH 160,000 to buy an artificial hand).

In general, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated UAH 1.5 million to render medical aid.

It was reported that on April 27, 2012, four explosions occurred in a one-hour span in Dnipropetrovsk, injuring 31 people, including 10 teenagers, 26 victims were hospitalized. One victim, a woman, remains in hospital. All of the explosive devices were planted in concrete trash containers. SBU investigators are probing the criminal case opened by prosecutors on terror charges.

On May 31, senior officials in the Interior Ministry and the Prosecutor General's Office stated that two suspects had been arrested for allegedly demanding $4.5 million, otherwise they threatened to continue the explosions. It emerged on June 1 that four people were arrested. All of them have been remanded in custody by the court while the investigation is ongoing. It was found later that one of them is a senior political science professor at the National University of Dnipropetrovsk, and the second is an assistant professor of political science.
