Zelenskyy directs increased drone procurement following military command meeting
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff on Saturday, focusing on drone procurement for the year ahead.
"I have just concluded the meeting. The key topics were our drone operations and this year's procurement plans, covering everything the Defense Forces need. Today, we reviewed contracts that are already being fulfilled as well as those planned," Zelenskyy stated in a video address posted on his Telegram channel.
The president emphasized that the collective goal of arms manufacturers, officials, and all involved parties is to make 2025 a record-breaking year for drones of all types while significantly increasing the production of Ukrainian missiles, artillery, and other essential equipment.
"I have instructed an increase in drone procurement orders. This process is already underway. Our arsenals are one of the guarantees of our independence, alongside the precision of our warriors," Zelenskyyy highlighted.
He expressed gratitude to all units conducting strikes on military facilities and logistics within Russian territory.
"There must be more of these critically important results," the president said.
