Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has said that Kharkiv region is among the regions provided with major financing from the government in 2024.

"This year, Kharkiv region is among the regions provided with major financing. About UAH 16 billion has already been allocated as a subvention. UAH 6 billion was additionally provided for the construction of fortifications," he said at an off-site meeting of the government in Kharkiv region on Thursday.

According to Shmyhal, the government allocated UAH 2.4 billion to Kharkiv region in order to qualitatively prepare and overcome the heating season, as well as about UAH 2 billion was allocated directly to Kharkiv.

Also, more than UAH 500 million was allocated to Centrenergo to restore and protect energy facilities in the region.

"For Kharkiv, a record amount of funds has been allocated for the construction and arrangement of bomb shelters in educational institutions. We are talking about UAH 2.7 billion. The work continues," the Prime Minister said.

Among other things, Shmyhal noted that the government provided funds for housing repairs under the eRestoration program for more than 26,000 families in Kharkiv region, as well as more than UAH 600 million was allocated for repairs of apartment buildings in the region.

"Medicine is another area of special attention. More than UAH 200 million has been allocated for Kharkiv region to equip bomb shelters and safe conditions in hospitals. Another direction of our work is the support of the Ukrainian manufacturer. This year UAH 1.5 billion is provided to support the business of Kharkiv region," the head of the government said.
