Zelenskyy, Scholz visit wounded warriors in Kyiv hospital
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz visited wounded warriors in Kyiv, the press service of the Office of the President of Ukraine has said on Monday.
Zelenskyy and Scholz discussed with defenders the nature of their wounds, received while defending Ukraine in Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk and Sumy regions, and the progress of their treatment.
"Thank you for your service and defense of Ukraine. You are the heroes. Ukraine honors and is proud of its defenders. Get well and take care of yourselves," the Ukrainian President said.
The Ukrainian defenders thanked the Chancellor for the assistance provided by Germany, in particular for air defense systems. Scholz wished the warriors a speedy recovery.
Zelenskyy also presented awards to the medical staff and military personnel.
"Thank you for your work. It is challenging work that is not covered by the media and is not on air. But it is vital because you bring our guys back to life. Thank you and take care of yourselves," he said.
