Russian military shoot six Ukrainian POWs in Donbas
Russian military shot six Ukrainian prisoners of war (POWs) on the Pokrovsk axis, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine (PGO) has said on Tuesday.
According to the latest updates, on October 23, 2024, during an offensive operation on Selydove, Donetsk region, Russian military captured three Ukrainian fighters. After some time, the occupiers shot the armless POWs, it said on the Telegram channel.
On November 1, while storming strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the same Pokrovsk axis, Russian servicemen shot another three Ukrainian soldiers from automatic weapons.
These actions are a violation of the Geneva Conventions. They are qualified as an international crime,
A pre-trial investigation has been launched in the case under the procedural guidance of Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation is carried out by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
