Zelenskyy: We need quick decisions on weapons supplies, Russia will have more in 2025
Ukraine needs quick decisions from its partners on weapons supplies, because later it will be more difficult and Russia will produce as much or more than Europe produces, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"In Russia, for example, there are 30 key Soviet factories that produce this or that weapon and equipment, and they are increasing this production, bypassing sanctions. In Europe, in the European Union, I think, there are about 42 factories. Russia produced less in 2024 than Europe produces, while Ukraine received less than Russia has," Zelenskyy said at a meeting with journalists on Friday, September 20.
The president explained that Europe launched "its entire organism" for weapons production and produces 1.5 times more than Russia, but Ukraine received less than Russia has.
"This is 2024. We need quick decisions - now, not later, because it will be more difficult later. These 30 factories will work at full capacity and will produce as much or more than Europe produces," the head of state emphasized.
He added that Russia "would have more already in 2025."
"We are looking at North Korea, Iran, which are also actively producing and giving weapons to Russia. This is all very dangerous and leads to the polarization of the world," Zelenskyy emphasized.
