Poroshenko discusses with Warsaw mayor increasing support for Ukraine, energy security
The leader of the European Solidarity party, MP Petro Poroshenko met with Warsaw mayor Rafal Trzaskowski and discussed with him issues of increasing support for Ukraine, energy security and protecting Ukrainian airspace according to the "Israeli model," the political party's website reports.
"I told him in detail about the state of security in Ukraine as a whole, the situation at the front, the motivation of the Ukrainian military and the urgent needs to repel the Russian invasion. It's high time for a joint response with the allies to the aggressor according to the 'Israeli model' to the daring shelling of Ukrainian territory, especially the violation of the airspace of the allies," Poroshenko said.
He thanked his Polish partners for supporting the Ukrainians’ fight against Russian aggression, humanitarian aid to Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, and shelter for more than 100,000 Ukrainians in the capital of Poland.
"We separately touched upon the issue of energy security and the corresponding challenges facing Ukraine during the winter season. I am grateful for your willingness to help us withstand and win," the politician noted.
The parties also noted the importance of decentralization for Ukraine, which is successfully operating in Poland. "We also noted the need for free media, including during the war, to effectively counter Russian disinformation and information manipulation. We also discussed the state and prospects for meeting the cultural and linguistic needs of Ukrainian children in Poland," Poroshenko said.
