Czech President: It's up to Ukraine how to use weapons, F-16s against Russia

Czech President Petr Pavel says Ukraine is the one to decide how to use the weapons provided to it by partners, including the F-16 aircraft, the Czech publication Novinky reported on Thursday.

"If, according to Article 51 of the UN Charter, we want to help Ukraine against aggression and support it with material supplies, and not with direct participation in hostilities, then it is up to Ukraine how to use these weapons," the publication quoted him as saying in an interview with French television.

Ukraine's strikes on targets in Russia are absolutely legitimate, the Czech President said.

"If it were not for the fact that Russia started the aggression and that it has been striking targets on Ukrainian territory for a long time, Ukraine would not have to strike a single target in Russia," he said.

"The one who holds the main card is President Putin. He can end the war overnight," the Czech President underlined.
