Zelenskyy: We're anticipating India joining Peace Summit communique
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed hope that India will join the joint communique of the inaugural Peace Summit held in Switzerland and intends to discuss further cooperation within the framework of the summit during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Ukraine.
"The issue of ending war and a just peace is a priority for Ukraine. We recently held the first inaugural Peace Summit. I want to thank India for being present at that summit and today necessarily one of the topics will be the Peace Summit, how we can move in that direction. We are anticipating India being able to join the joint communique of the inaugural summit and I will be talking to the prime minister about that," the head of state said at a meeting with Modi in Kyiv on Friday.
Zelenskyy also thanked Modi for India's support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for the humanitarian assistance provided.
"During these two and a half years, I want to thank personally Prime Minister Modi and the people of India for supporting Ukrainian citizens with humanitarian packages. The number of them is 16. I thank you for this support," he said.
