Ukrainian Red Cross Society supports families of those missing in action due to war
The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) supports the families of those missing in action as a result of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine.
"Over the past six months, 11,902 contacts have been made with the families of missing persons and prisoners of war in order to assess their needs and support their psychological state… During this time, volunteers have held 48 information and socialization events for families, and 943 families of missing persons and prisoners of war have received humanitarian aid under programs for vulnerable categories of the population," the URCS reported on Facebook.
URCS volunteers involved in restoring family ties in the regions maintain direct contact with relatives of missing persons who have contacted the URCS Search Service. They hold information meetings with family members of missing persons, advise them on various issues, provide humanitarian aid, organize recreational and psychosocial support activities.
