Former officer of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine (GUR) Roman Chervinsky has been released from the detention center on a UAH 9 million bail, Ukrainian Member of Parliament Iryna Gerashchenko (European Solidarity faction) has said.

"Roman Chervinsky is free! His family and members of the European Solidarity met him near the detention center in Kropyvnytsky," she said on Facebook on Wednesday.

As reported, the leader of the European Solidarity party, MP Petro Poroshenko on July 16 posted the full amount of UAH 9 million bail for Chervinsky.

Chervinsky is a defendant in the case on Russia's strike against the Kanatove airfield in Kirovohrad region in July 2022. He is charged with abuse of authority by a military official.

Also, it was reported in December 2023 that Chervinsky was notified of suspicion of an attempt to appropriate someone else's property by deception on an especially large scale, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons.

The prosecutor's office suspects that Chervinsky posing as an influential official of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, together with other persons, made an attempt to seize an entrepreneur's funds in the amount of $100,000. He promised to resolve the issue of returning the detained batch of tobacco products to the entrepreneur by transferring these funds to employees of the State Fiscal and State Tax Service of Ukraine.

On July 15, Kropyvnytsky Court of Appeals selected a measure of restrain for Chervinsky in the form of detention or a UAH 9 million bail.
