Ukraine raises electricity exports by 6.6% in eight months
Ukraine in January-August 2018 increased electricity exports by 6.6% (by 248.9 million kWh) compared to the same period in 2017, to 4.034 billion kWh, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry has told Interfax-Ukraine.
The supply of electricity from the Burshtyn TPP energy island towards Hungary, Slovakia and Romania increased by 15.5% (by 336.8 million kWh), to 2.517 billion kWh.
Export of electricity to Poland increased by 28.1% (by 202.3 million kWh), to 922.1 million kWh.
Electricity supplies to Moldova amounted to 595.1 million kWh, which is 32.8% (290.2 million kWh) less than in January-August 2017.
Ukrainian electricity was not exported to Belarus and Russia in January-August 2017 and January-August 2018.
At the same time, in August 2018 export of Ukrainian electricity amounted to 407.947 million kWh, which is 53.4% more than in August 2017 (265.976 million kWh).
In addition, Ukraine for the eight months of this year imported 22.337 million kWh of electricity.
