Ukraine can accelerate economic growth in 2018 to more than 3.5% compared with 2.5% in 2017, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.

"I am confident that growth in 2018 should be more than 3.5%," he said at a meeting with investors at the Ukraine House in Davos on Thursday, January 25.

He noted that the interest in Ukraine was increasing. According to him, within one day he will receive 80 requests for a meeting.

Speaking about the possibilities for speeding up economic growth, Poroshenko noted the adoption of the law on privatization, which he is going to sign, the replacement of the profit tax with the tax on withdrawn capital, the growth of the average salary, and the improvement of the banking system.

Poroshenko also stressed the importance of the ongoing judicial reform to attract investment in the country and the possibility of participants in privatization, according to a new law, to use English law.

"Today we talked a lot about a half empty or half full glass. I propose a third option – it's already more than half full," Poroshenko said.
