PJSC Centrenergo could be privatized in the next six months, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn considers.

"It is not logical to do anything during the heating season. But there is a gap now - let's deal with this, we have six months by the next heating season. Of course, there is the problem of coal purchases [from state mines], but this could be settled within the framework of an agreement between the mines and the enterprise, Centrenergo could undertake buying a certain amount for a certain price and principles agreed by the NCER, taking into account the global indices," he said.

However, the minister stressed that a serious pre-sale preparation should be done.

According to Demchyshyn, the sale of Centrenergo without preliminary preparation won't bring positive results.
