Adriatik Mariner tanker supplies fuel directly from Israel, Heraschenko's accusations of smuggling groundless - WOG

Adriatik Mariner tanker supplied diesel fuel in the interests of WOG company from a refinery in Haifa (Israel) directly to Izmail, and the accusations of MP Anton Heraschenko, alleging the fuel was smuggled via Crimea, are groundless, WOG CEO Serhiy Koretsky said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.

"Absolutely each word said by Heraschenko at a briefing on May 29 and written on his Facebook page is untrue… We have all documents on customs clearance of fuel supplied by the tanker, payment of UAH 31 million of excise duty and VAT… The tanker came not from Crimea, but from the Israeli town Haifa directly from the refinery," Koretsky said.

He said that accusations of smuggling are absolutely groundless and WOG believes that this is part of a dirty campaign waged by the structures of Ihor Kolomoisky.

"We insist that Heraschenko refutes his words and apologizes in public… if he does not do this, the company will apply to court," he said.

Previously, adviser to the interior minister Heraschenko (People's Front) said that the ships violated border regulations and entered Ukrainian ports from Crimea. He said an SBU officer detained Adriatik Mariner tanker in the port of Izmail. The tanker loaded 5,800 tonnes of diesel fuel in Feodosiya and planned to unload it in Ukraine without paying customs fees, which could have totaled UAH 23 million.
