Norway to contribute EUR 35 mln to European humanitarian aid for Ukraine – Norwegian minister
Norway will contribute EUR 35 million to the common European fund of humanitarian aid for Ukraine, Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge Brende has said.
He said that Norway's issue of EUR 35 million as part of common European aid for Ukraine would be discussed during talks with Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
Brende announced the provision of the aid while attending the roundtable talk "Humanitarian Aid by International Organizations and Donor States: How the Host Country's Government Can Help," which was held in Kyiv.
Brende said that the population of Donbas continues to suffer due to escalation of the conflict and that poverty continues to grow in the region, adding that it is important to render humanitarian aid to the people living in Donbas.
