The deficit of Ukraine's balance of payments in March 2015 amounted to $305 million, which is 2.4 times less than in February 2015, but 1.5 times higher than in March 2014, according to preliminary data from the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) posted on its website.

According to the data, the current account deficit fell to $13 million from $460 million a month earlier and $630 million in March last year.

The deficit of the capital and financial operations account in March 2015 amounted to $292 million, which is slightly more than in February 2015 ($283 million), while in March last year a surplus of $426 million was recorded.

In the first quarter of this year, the consolidated balance sheet deficit amounted to $1.938 billion, which is 2.2 times better than in the first quarter of last year.

The current account deficit decreased by 1.8 times, to $836 million, capital and financial transactions - by 2.5 times, to $1.102 billion.
