Cabinet resolution should be altered to appoint new Ukrtransnafta management - Kobolev

To select and appoint the new management of PJSC Ukrtransnafta it is necessary to amend the Cabinet decision which regulates this process, Naftogaz Ukrainy Head Andriy Kobolev has said on Channel Five TV.

"It [the new management of Ukrtransnafta] should be elected at a transparent tender. This has been started. Unfortunately, the procedure of this tender requires changes, it is not perfect. There is the Cabinet resolution, which must be changed. We hope this will be done soon and the management will be elected and appointed," he said.

According to Kobolev, the decision to dismiss Oleksandr Lazorko from Ukrtransnafta has been contested in court; however there is no final verdict so far and thus it remains in force.

Kobolev said that Lazorko was previously been warned about Naftogaz's claims.

"The management of Ukrtransnafta was warned about what claims Naftogaz has to the leadership ...Naftogaz has clear claims as for the contract for oil storage at the facilities of Ukrtatnafta, which belongs to Privat Group. This treaty, namely the cost of these services, became the main reason for the dismissal of Lazorko - he knows about it," he said.

Kobolev added that Naftogaz considers the cost of the contract for oil storage to be overpriced.
