Ukraine and Qatar are working on expanding their legal framework for bilateral cooperation, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.

He told Ukrainian journalists in Doha on Wednesday that during the forthcoming visit by the Qatari prime minister to Ukraine, the sides are expected to sign a number of respective documents.

While commenting on the high-level talks held during his official visit to Qatar, Yanukovych said that "we outlined the directions, which, in our opinion, are promising and can be used in our practical actions in the issues of energy, agriculture, military and technical cooperation."

He also said that infrastructure projects were also promising.

Yanukovych said that Ukraine and Qatar had already set up working groups that will work on the preparation of the relevant documents.

He said that government agencies and Ukrainian business representatives would be involved in this work.

"Government institutions will work at the level of state commissions and sub-commissions, while businesses – as part of business forums and, of course, the establishment of contacts," he said.
