Surkis: It currently makes no sense to talk about CIS league

President of FC Dynamo Kyiv Ihor Surkis has said he sees no point in discussing the possibility of creating a joint Russian-Ukrainian league at this stage.

"I cannot make any conclusions on the basis of the united tournament of two Ukrainian and two Russian teams whether we need a joint league or not. First and foremost, we need to use the regulations of UEFA, FIFA and our federations. This is currently forbidden. If the two federations find common language and the fans support this, then it will be possible to move somehow. And what can we discuss now if we do not decide anything? I don't want to talk on this subject," he said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine on Monday.

Surkis noted that the united tournament involving Dynamo Kyiv, Shakhtar Donetsk, Spartak Moscow and Zenit St. Petersburg had become a very good step in preparations for the upcoming season.

As reported, Dynamo won the friendly united tournament of Ukrainian and Russian teams, which took place from June 27 to July 7. The club collected ten points from four games, whereas Spartak, Shakhtar and Zenit each scored four points.
