Air Force units shot down five cruise missiles on Thursday evening, and 11 UAVs of various types on Friday night, Air Force Commander Mykola Oleschuk said.

"On the evening of July 11, 2024, the occupiers attacked from strategic aviation aircraft with five X-101 type air-launched cruise missiles [launches from Saratov region - RF.], and during the night - with 19 Shahed-131/136 type attack UAVs and unidentified drones from Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk region," he wrote on the Telegram channel on Wednesday.

According to him, as a result of anti-aircraft combat, missiles were shot down in Khmelnytsky, Sumy and Cherkasy regions. Also, the air defense shot down 11 shaheds and drones of an unidentified type in Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsky, Kherson and Sumy regions. According to the commander, the remaining eight drones are "locally lost."

"Probably, in order to overload the air defense, the enemy uses attack UAV simulators. There was no information about casualties and damage," Oleschuk wrote.

He noted that the main direction of the strike was Starokostiantyniv. Fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force, mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and electronic warfare units were involved in repelling the enemy's air attack.
