Nine dead, 33 injured after enemy missile attack on Kyiv – PGO
The death toll from a massive missile attack on Kyiv increased to nine people, 33 people were injured, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine (PGO) has said.
"On July 8, 2024, in the morning, the Russian armed forces, in violation of laws and customs of war, inflicted an air attack on Ukraine and the capital using various types of missiles. As of 12:40, nine dead and 33 injured were reported in Kyiv," it said on the Telegram channel.
According to the PGO, destruction and damage to civil infrastructure was recorded in seven districts of the capital: in Shevchenkivsky district – the Okhmatdyt children's hospital was damaged, there is destruction, in Holosiyivsky district – the building of a kindergarten and a residential building was damaged, cars were on fire, in Solomyansky district – an office building was damaged, in Dniprovsky district – debris are burning in a residential area, in Darnytsky district – a private house was damaged, debris are burning near a residential building in Sviatoshynsky district, there was also a fire in the premises of one of the enterprises, in Desniansky district – a house caught fire.
Under the procedural guidance of Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into violation of laws and customs of war combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Emergency services and investigative teams are working at the scenes.
