Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban notified NATO in advance about his upcoming visit to Moscow on July 5, but he does not represent NATO interests there, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has said.

At a press conference in Brussels on Friday, the Secretary General said that the upcoming visit was flagged to NATO in advance, adding that when Orban is in Washington for the NATO Summit next week, the topics that he raised in Moscow would be discuss and touch on.

Stoltenberg recalled that he visited Hungary just a couple of weeks ago, where he met with Prime Minister Orban, and they discussed the Russian war against Ukraine.

All Allies, including Hungary, agree that Russia is responsible for this war, the Secretary General said, adding that Russia can stop this war today and stop attacking Ukraine.

He emphasized that Orban does not represent NATO interests in Moscow, adding that the Hungarian Prime Minister represents only his own country there.
