Umerov after Ramstein: Drone coalition launched, F-16s are on schedule, we working on joint production of shells
Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov informed about the results of the 19th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group.
"Artillery systems and shells are on the agenda. In particular, joint production. We are working on this, there are already results. F16 – we are following the schedule within the framework of all agreements with partners. Drones – there will be more. We are strengthening interaction with partners on the issue of unmanned systems. The Drone coalition was officially launched today, with eight countries already joining – Sweden, Britain, Denmark, Germany, Lithuania, Estonia, the Netherlands, and Latvia. I am grateful to Latvia for its leadership," he said on Facebook.
The minister said he and his colleagues held fruitful negotiations within the Opportunity Coalition.
"We are strengthening our air defense with both systems and missiles to them. The coalition of the Integrated Air and Missile Defense Coalition has officially started its work. Some 15 countries have already joined. I am grateful to Germany, France and the United States for their leadership," Umerov said.
He also thanked Lithuania for its leadership in the demining coalition, which 20 countries have officially joined.
"Special thanks to the United States and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, who chaired the meeting. There is support from partners. We are working to drive the Russians out of our territories both on land, at sea and in the sky," Umerov said.
