Psychosocial support centre of Ukrainian Red Cross opened in Irpin
The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) has opened a Psychosocial support centre in Irpin (Kyiv region).
"Today, anyone who needs it will be able to contact the Psychosocial support centre in Irpin... and receive the necessary help. For the Ukrainian Red Cross, a priority task when organizing spaces, in particular for children, is the arrangement of shelters. A modern shelter has also been equipped in this room, so that children participating in psychosocial activities can safely continue their activities," Chairman of URCS Kyiv regional organization Ihor Prokopenko said.
As the society said on Facebook, in two rooms of the Psychosocial support centre there will be group classes with elements of creativity and active games for children and adults, for the elderly and activities to support the whole family. The centre will operate daily on weekdays and every person who is unable to overcome stress or anxiety on their own will be able to seek help. The centre also provides other assistance from the Ukrainian Red Cross.
This is already the eighth psychosocial support centre opened by URCS in Ukraine. Such centers are already operating in Uzhgorod, Poltava, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytsky, Ternopil and Kamianets-Podilsky. Psychosocial support to the population from URSC is also provided in more than 60 equipped spaces throughout almost the entire territory of Ukraine. All centres were created as part of the activities of the mental health and psychosocial support of the Ukrainian Red Cross in partnership with the Danish Red Cross.
