Ukrainian Air Force fighters destroy enemy A-50, Il-22 planes

The Ukrainian defense forces destroyed the enemy's A-50 radar plane and Il-22 command plane, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny has said.

"The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed the enemy's long-range radar plane A-50 and command plane Il-22. I am grateful to the Air Force for the excellently planned and carried out operation in the Azov region! Glory to Ukraine!" he said on the Telegram channel on Monday.

In turn, Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleschuk thanked the Ukrainian defenders for conducting the operation to down the enemy aircraft.

"Well, my dear friends, the Sea of Azov is as clean as never before now! We are preparing for the beach season on its coast. I am grateful to everyone who planned, organized and was directly involved in the operation to destroy the occupiers' planes! There are definitely a few seats left on board of the Moscow aircraft carrier. We go on with the Have an Eternal Flight, Brothers! series. More will follow. The Defense Ministry of Ukraine said on X Social Network that one enemy A-50 radar plane costs $330 million.
