Pistorius, Umerov visit air defense control center armed with one of Patriot air defense systems transferred from Germany

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, who arrived in Kyiv on a visit, together with his Ukrainian colleague Rustem Umerov, visited one of the military training centers, as well as an air defense control center, which is armed with one of the Patriot air defense systems transferred by Germany.

"We were at the training center and showed our partners how we are reforming recruiting and training," Umerov said at a joint briefing with Pistorius in Kyiv.

He also said they visited the air defense control center, which is armed with one of the Patriot air defense systems transferred by Germany.

"The effective use of these weapons allows our economy to work, including military-industrial complex enterprises," Umerov said.

At the same time, as the minister said, not only assistance was discussed, but also readiness for joint production of weapons and localization in Ukraine.

Separately, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine thanked his colleague for his visit to Kyiv on the Day of Dignity and Freedom and for the assistance provided and training of the Ukrainian military.

"I thank German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius for his visit on such an important day for us – the Day of Dignity and Freedom. Our defense forces and the entire Ukrainian people continue to fight for their dignity and freedom. Thank you to Germany for being with us in this fight. Thank you for your support," Umerov said.

The German Ministry of Defense also published a post about the ministers' visit to the training center.

"German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and his Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov visited a training center in Ukraine. There he could discuss with Ukrainian soldiers, among other things, the current need for support," the German Ministry of Defense reported on X (Twitter) on Tuesday.
