NSDC imposes sanctions against 37 Russian entities likely involved in deportations of Ukrainian children

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree that puts into force the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine dated November 18 to impose sanctions against a number of legal entities and individuals who are likely involved in the deportations of Ukrainian children from the occupied territories.

Corresponding decree No. 759/2023 was published on the presidential website.

According to the text of the NSDC decision, some 37 Russian charitable organizations, as well as 100 individuals related to them, have been sanctioned.

Thus, in particular, the non-profit organization "Quarter Louis" was sanctioned, founded by the current Russian Commissioner for Children's Rights Maria Lvova-Belova, whose arrest warrant was issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in March 2023 as part of the case of illegal deportation and transfer of Ukrainian children.

The package of sanctions provides for the blocking of assets, a complete restriction of trade operations, as well as the transit of resources, flights and transportation across the territory of Ukraine, the prevention of the withdrawal of capital outside Ukraine, the suspension of the fulfilment of economic and financial obligations, a ban on participation in privatization, leasing of state property, a ban on the implementation of public and defense procurement of goods, works and services from legal entities, a ban on transactions in securities, a ban on increasing the size of the charter capital of business companies and enterprises, a ban on the transfer of technology, rights to intellectual property rights, cancellation of official visits, meetings, negotiations on the conclusion of agreements or agreements, as well as a ban on the acquisition of land plots.

Sanctions are imposed for a period of five years.
