Netherlands reserves EUR 2 bln for military aid to Ukraine for 2024 – Ministry of Defense

The Dutch government has reserved more than EUR 2 billion for military assistance to Ukraine for 2024, the Dutch Ministry of Defense reports.

"The Netherlands continues to support Ukraine. Military support in the amount of EUR 2 billion is available for 2024. With this significant amount, we send a clear signal: Ukraine can continue to count on us," Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren wrote on the social network X.

The department noted that the specified amount would cover the needs of Ukraine, which exist, for example, in the field of ammunition and maintenance of already supplied platforms and systems.

"In this way, the Netherlands wants to contribute to strengthening Ukraine's air defense so that the country can continue to defend against attacks on critical infrastructure. There is also a need for more technologically advanced equipment," the statement said.

The money will also go towards recovery and reconstruction, as well as improving Ukraine's cybersecurity. In addition, the Netherlands will continue training Ukrainian soldiers in 2024.
