Cooperation, unity of all who value peace to prevent disasters – Zelenskyy in address to Paris Peace Forum

Cooperation and unity of all who truly value peace can prevent disasters and stop the suffering of peoples, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, addressing participants of the Paris Peace Forum via video link on Friday.

"I am grateful that in such difficult, turbulent times, the Paris Peace Forum remains active and contributes to global cooperation. And what is really important for global stability is that it strengthens cooperation between Europe and Africa, Asia, Latin America," he said.

According to Zelenskyy, "there are not a few 'great' ones who can supposedly decide something in the world for everyone... All nations are equal, and every nation deserves respect."

"Only such an approach can realize the right of every child of every nation to a world in which there are more examples of achieving peace than stories of its destruction. So, I proposed the Ukrainian peace formula to protect our people and to create a globally significant precedent for the restoration of an honest peace," he emphasized.

"I call on you to multiply unity and joint work for the sake of providing the world with the necessary answers to existing global issues... Complex issues. But there are no difficulties that cannot be overcome by the unity of people," Zelenskyy said.

He thanked France and personally President Macron for their unshakable faith in global cooperation, for new formats of such cooperation, for their inexhaustible energy in working to unite the world.

Zelenskyy also thanked European Council President Charles Michel for his leadership and for channeling Europe's strength for the global good.
