The Ukrainian defense forces repelled Russian occupation forces' attacks in the Kupiansk-Lyman, Bakhmut, Maryinka, Shakhtarsk, and Zaporizhia directions over the past 24 hours, and continued the offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, exhausting the enemy, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

"In the Kupiansk direction, our defenders repelled five enemy attacks in the vicinity of Synkivka and Ivanivka, Kharkiv region... In the Lyman direction, the defense forces repelled seven enemy attacks in the Makiyivka area, Luhansk region," it said on Facebook post on Monday evening.

According to the General Staff, in the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled four enemy attacks near Klischiyivka, Donetsk region. In the Maryinka direction, they "successfully repelled 15 enemy attacks in the areas of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region." In the Shakhtarsk direction, an attack by the Russians was repelled in the Staromayorsky district, Donetsk region, in the Zaporizhia direction – in the Levadny district.

"At the same time, the Ukrainian defense forces continue the offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, offensive (assault) actions in the Bakhmut direction, inflicting losses on the occupation forces in personnel and equipment, depleting the enemy along the entire front line," the General Staff said.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation did not change significantly. No signs of the formation of offensive groups were found. In the Siversky and Slobozhansky directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, continues shelling settlements from the territory of Russia, and increases the density of mine and explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine.
