Due to Russian armed aggression against Ukraine, 1,702 cultural infrastructure facilities have already been damaged, about a third of which have been destroyed, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy reports.

"The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy continues to record damage to cultural infrastructure facilities in Ukraine as a result of Russian aggression... Damage was caused to 1,702 cultural infrastructure facilities," the ministry's press service said in a statement.

It is noted that the greatest losses and damage to cultural infrastructure were suffered in Donetsk, Kherson, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Luhansk and Zaporizhia regions. In particular, the following were affected in total: club establishments – 841; libraries – 601; art education institutions – 131; museums and galleries – 99; theaters and philharmonic societies – 30.

"It is worth noting that at the end of September 2023, almost the entire territory of Luhansk and significant parts of Kherson, Zaporizhia and Donetsk regions are still under temporary occupation. This makes it impossible to calculate the exact number of cultural infrastructure facilities damaged during the fighting and occupation," the department noted.
