Zelenskyy arrives at NATO summit in Vilnius

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived at the NATO summit in Vilnius on Wednesday morning, during which the inaugural meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council will be held.

The head of the Ukrainian state arrived at the summit together with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov, head of the President’s Office of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, an Interfax-Ukraine agency correspondent reported.

According to the President, the agenda will include new military support packages to support the Ukrainian army on the battlefield; an invitation to NATO and security guarantees for Ukraine.

Speaking about the issue of inviting Ukraine to NATO, Zelenskyy said: "And today, what we hear and understand is that we will have this invitation [to NATO] when security measures allow. I want to discuss all these things with our partners."

According to information published on the Alliance's website, a joint press conference will be held at 12:45 following Zelenskyy's bilateral meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

The meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council "at the level of heads of state and Government, including Sweden" will be held at 13:00 on July 12.
