Vessels participating in grain deal to be inspected according to temporary scheme – Ukraine's ministry

In the next three days, inspections of grain deal vessels will resume on a temporary basis, an agreement was reached during negotiations between Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for Restoration Oleksandr Kubrakov and Turkish Minister of National Defence Hulusi Akar.

This was announced by Deputy Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development Yuriy Vaskov at a meeting of the Coordinating Council under the Ministry of Agrarian Policy on Wednesday.

"The transition scheme will be as follows: 50% of the vessels will be inspected according to the list submitted to the Joint Coordination Centre by the Ukrainian side. The remaining 50% will be formed from the vessels that are waiting the longest for inspection and the vessels of the UN Food Programme," he said, adding that it is an intermediate solution.

Vaskov said that 50% of the list consists of vessels that stand in line for a long time, the remaining 50% are humanitarian cargo. This is exactly the scheme agreed upon by Ukraine, Türkiye and the UN.

"Next week, negotiations on this issue will continue in a trilateral format, which will be preceded by negotiations between Ukraine and the UN," the deputy minister said.
