IAEA head leaves ZNPP, returns to Ukrainian-controlled territory – Energoatom

Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi left the Zaporizhia NPP, where he was on a one-day visit, Energoatom reported.

"The visit of the head of the IAEA to Europe's largest nuclear power plant, the second since the start of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, lasted several hours," the Ukrainian operator of the nuclear power plant said on its Telegram channel on Wednesday evening.

According to the report, Grossi returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine together with the experts of the permanent mission of the agency, who were at the ZNPP before the rotation. Other representatives of the IAEA will continue monitoring the situation at the plant.

As reported, the Director General of the IAEA announced his second visit to ZNPP after the Russian invasion in the last week of March.

The agency said that the situation at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant is still precarious.
