Ukraine is ready to send rescuers to Turkey to help wind up the consequences of the earthquake, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said.

"Ukraine stands ready to send a large group of rescue workers to Türkiye to assist crisis response. We are working closely with the Turkish side to coordinate their deployment," Kuleba said on Twitter on Monday.

As a result of a powerful earthquake in Turkey, according to the latest data, some 912 people died, in neighboring Syria 326 people, the Anadolu agency said on Monday.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the death toll from the magnitude seven and a half earthquake in Turkey rose to 912 people, the number of victims was about 5,400. He called the earthquake "the largest disaster in the last century."

The president said rescue work is ongoing and Turkey has received offers of assistance from 45 countries, as well as from the EU and NATO.

In turn, the Syrian Ministry of Health reports that the number of victims of the earthquake in the country has reached 326.

A powerful earthquake in Turkey and Syria and the subsequent aftershocks led to the collapse of numerous buildings in several provinces, the tremors were felt by the inhabitants of Lebanon, Jordan and Israel.
