Zelensky on corruption in ministries: Society to receive info, govt to take necessary steps

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced "relevant decisions" next week due to reports of corruption in a number of ministries and departments.

"Today, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dismissed the deputy minister, who was exposed by NABU officers, from his post. Law enforcement officers have every opportunity to conduct an investigation and send this proceeding to court. I want this to be our signal to anyone whose actions or behavior violate the principle of justice," he said in a video statement on Sunday.

Zelensky said "now the key focus is on defense issues, foreign policy, war. But this does not mean that I do not see and hear what is being said in society at different levels."

"And this week will be the time for appropriate decisions. They are already prepared. I don't want to announce now, but all this will be fair," he said.

According to him, "we will deal with each situation in detail. As for energy and procurement. As for the relationship between the central government and the regions. As for purchases for the military. The society will receive full information, and the state will take powerful necessary steps."

"This is not something temporary, this is a real response. This is what we all expect from our institutions, from the state. I thank law enforcement officers who protect the law and state interests that ensure justice! And thanks to the journalists who deal with all the facts and establish the full picture," the president said.

"We all must, each his own, do for our unity. The strength of society and the strength of the country are combined specifically with justice," Zelensky said.
