Law enforcers document Russia's war crimes in Bucha, Borodianka – prosecutor's office

Prosecutors, SBU officers and experts from the Research Institute of Forensic Examinations are documenting war crimes committed by the Russian armed forces in Bucha and Borodianka, Kyiv region, Kyiv regional prosecutor's office reports.

"During armed aggression, the enemy inflicted numerous blows on the peaceful city of Borodianka. Air bombardments, shelling from rocket artillery systems, as well as prohibited cluster munitions – the settlement was under constant attacks by the occupiers," the regional prosecutor's office said on the Telegram channel on Wednesday.

According to the prosecutor's office, due to daily shelling, private and multi-storey residential buildings, schools, kindergartens, medical institutions, churches, shops, garages and storage facilities have been completely or partially destroyed. Civil and municipal vehicles were also damaged.

The report notes that there are no military facilities near the places where the shells hit.

"Currently, a number of criminal proceedings have been opened on violations of the laws and customs of war [Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine]. As part of the pretrial investigation, a comprehensive examination has been appointed to establish the volume of destruction and damage to movable and immovable property, the assessment of material damage," the prosecutor's office informs.
